Aloha!

Here we are on the back porch of the Sessions home, dawning our lei's. We're very thankful for their letting us stay with them for a week. The view is incredible. Pearl harbor is just off to the left of the picture. We're high enough on the mountain that at night the trade winds were so nice. Posted by Picasa

We be jammin'

Okay, so since our flight arrived in San Francisco 1:45 late, I think Caleb did exceptionally well. Amy gave him some Benadryl before we left thinking he'd sleep, but instead he was wired the rest of the trip. I ended up holding him back by the bathrooms where there was some room to walk around for 30 minutes at one point... when that didn't work Amy put her head phones on Caleb and he loved it - we had to take a picture. It was short-lived peace, however. We had to try lots of things until we landed. Posted by Picasa

Caleb at Ila and Ruby's baby blessing.

I'm already sore! - Wed Jan 4, 2006

So Jon tells me he can put me on his Lehi Rec Center membership... I take some close with me and meet him down there are 11am only to find out that I can only be added on to his membership if I "live" in Jon's house. "Well, he's my brother-in-law..." says Jon - NO DICE. I fork out the $2.50 to go lift with him. We do bench press... ouch, leg press... getting to be an ouch, pec fly... ouch, lat pull... not sore yet. I've decided I need to go get a massage tomorrow because it hurts so good. Thanks, Jonny boy!

Caleb's Christmas jammies

Okay, so this little guy is looking older and older every day. We took this picture on Christmas Eve with these skin tight jammies Amy thinks are just soo cute. He sure looks like he's happy, doesn't he?

Why won't this boy sleep!!!

Okay, so I've had 2 hours of sleep tonight. We watched The Aviator last night and it didn't get over until around 11pm... not so bad except that I had a large diet coke with my salad yesterday for lunch, so I was wired - couldn't sleep at all. Then around 12am Caleb wakes up crying, so I go change a 7lb wet diaper and feed him a new bottle. I finally knock off around 1:30am I'm guessing because that's the last time I looked at the clock.

Amy and I are trying to figure out how to help Caleb sleep straight through the night. We tried just ignoring him when he cries and that worked for about 2 weeks or so... then we moved his crib from our loft area (since Bedroom #1 was occupied by Tom and Laurel, and bedroom #2 was occupied by Amy's recently-returned-missionary brother Jimmy). Well once he's in our room, Amy ends up just getting him and bringing him into our bed... he does end up going to sleep faster, but then it's tough for me to sleep because he keeps hitting me in the face and kicking and flailing about (even though he's sound asleep).

Around 4pm (yes 2.5 hours later) he starts making a bunch of noise and Amy rolls over to nudge me (because we could both hear him on the baby monitor) and says, "your boy wants you." I go into his room as quietly as possible and just lay on the bed. After about an hour if kicking and flailing about he goes to sleep... ahh, lovely. But I'm not tired any more so I get up and come down stairs. Well, it's now 6:23am and he's back to fussing and kicking in his crib and I bet he's still asleep. Which means the only ones sleeping right now are Caleb and Amy.

I'm thinking I'm coming home today for lunch and taking a nap!!!

Here's another picture of our little Caleb

This is a picture Jon took of us while we were at the twins baby blessing a few months ago.

We're off to Hawaii!!!

Okay, so John better love this posting. We just bought tickets from SLC to Honolulu leaving on Jan 18th and coming home on Jan 26th. Tom is staying with the family who baptized him and we're going to crash with them for a few days, then come back with Tom. Since we're only going to be there for a week Amy said it would be OK for us to go back again pretty soon.

This is going to be Caleb's 1st airline trip - I can't say as that I'm looking forward to the overnight return trip with him. Hopefully a little baby Tylenol will go a long way!
