Newport Beach
We went to Newport Beach with the Castleton's on Saturday and Caleb LOVED it. He just played and played even though he was a bit cold and shivered sometimes. He loves the ocean and "the BIG pool."

Disneyland 2009
Okay, so we thought that January would be a low time for work and we might as well take advantage of the time and come down to Anaheim while weather in Utah is so cold. So the night before we leave, I'm sitting at home taking a loan application in my office when I sneeze and totaly pull a muscle on the right side of my back. A few weeks back I tried to dunk while we were playing ball in the morning and I came pretty close (okay, the people watching would probably argue that). Like 2 minutes later, I turned to grab a loose ball and tweaked the muscle on the right side of my lower back. It took me about 2 weeks of stretching and heat packs to get over it, and then I go and do THIS!! So the drive down wasn't that great because my back tightened up quite a bit, but everyone seemed to do fine. We went through a bit of a blizzard that cleared up after Nephi and then it was clear sailing the rest of the way.
Our next problem was the 1st day at Disneyland. Near the end, Caleb kept grabbing at his left ear (3 weeks ago he had an ear infection in his right ear). So after we met up with Aaron and Missy Castleton we followed them to their apartment complex in Claremont (if I remember right) where some guys in Aaron's ward who are medical school students looked in his ear and definitely found an infection. Aaron then called his buddy from High School who was an opthamologist and he called in a prescription for us at the Walgreens nearby. So after going through an In N Out drive through Caleb was sleeping in the car and we were headed back to the hotel with drugs in hand. Now that I have that over with, here are some pictures.
I guess this was the perfect place today... Caleb did great and we didn't even feel the earthquake:)
So while we have been at Disneyland, Caleb's favortie ride has always been the Buzz Light year ride (I think it's called Astro Blasters, or something). Anyway he loves it, everytime we get off he just wants to go again. So while we were in line we learned a couple of secrets:
1. Diamonds and Squares are worth more than circles
2. there are 50,000 extra points on targets in the dark tunnel
3. Zurg has a target on his chest, about 4 inches below the red "Z" on his chest... unless you know it's there, ou're probably not going to ever see it
4. Some of the guns don't fire very quickly, which makes getting a good score almost impossible
Using these "secrets" one time through I got 760,900 and the last time I scored 864,700... which I thought was pretty good since before then the highest I ever got was like 175,000 or something like that.
Among Caleb's other favorite rides (besides the 20 or so of Buzz) were... Big Thunder Mountain. He squealed and giggled the whole way around on that one and kept saying, "Let's go again." I have a video of it, but it's going to take a long time to upload because I'm using my phone as a modem. He also really liked Mulholland Madness and was sad when we went back one time and it was closed temporarily. He really liked the new Toy Story 3-D carnival game. Of course, Autopia is on the list but the one that was the funniest was Tower of Terror. We took him on that one and he was actually pretty emotionless during the ride. Afterward we asked if he liked it and he shook his head and said, "Spooky Scary." Back at our hotel, when we got into the elevator we asked if he wanted to go on the elevator ride at Disneyland again and he said, "No... Spooky Scary." Maybe he'll like it more next year:)
