Caleb's Train Table
I bought a couple of the Costco tables a while back and instead of storing them, I decided to lower them way down and put Caleb's train set on it. Usually he dumps the thing all over the floor and then breaks it up with his body as he lays over the tracks while pushing his trains around. This usually gets him really upset and then he just whines and cries when it doesn't work the way he wants it to work. We've been working on him to show him now to actually fix the tracks and put them together when they come apart and he did a really good job of it this afternoon.

Amy's B-day
These are the beautiful flowers Caleb bought for his Momma for her Birthday.
Today we ate breakfast early at Mimi's Cafe. Caleb did pretty good until he wanted the Tabasco Sauce. I knew he was going to keep whining until he got some, so I put a little on his finger and he put it in his mouth. His smile eventually turned to a disgusted look. Then he took his hands and tried wiping his tongue off... that didn't work, so he started digging at his tongue. I finally shoved some of my muffin in his mouth and that did the trick. A swig of orange juice later and he was just fine.
He was OK infront of some of the animals, and he loved pointing out the birds and the fish. But as soon as we got to the Lions and Bears he got really quiet and clingy.
But his favorite part of the whole museum was the little frontier village set because it had a train in it... Choo choo!!!
He was the most scared of the Alaskan Moose...
and of the Kodiak Brown Bear. Poor little man!
Amy's office even decorated her cubicle... but she took the day off. Okay, she never goes in on Thursdays.

Visitor from Brasil
Danielle de Souza (Queroz) came to SLC for General Conference, so I took the day off of work to show her around some of the tourist-ish places that not so near down town (because she doesn't have car). She is from Boa Vista and was baptized with her family shortly before I was transferred there. She was a HUGE help to the missionaries because she'd take time out of lawschool to drive us all over the city getting legal documents for the families we were trying to help become legally married so they could be baptized. She also let me know that Luis and Valdeci had been through the temple and that their daughter Mirla was serving a mission.
First, we went to the "This is the Place State Park"
Most of the volunteer students were back in school so we couldn't go into any of the buildings. We started out just looking at the hand carts, which Caleb loved.
He acted scared of the pigs even though he wanted to be right next to them.
But he sure did love the train ride.
It's a good thing we went on the first ride because when we were done about 200 kindergarten kids all got on screaming and shouting.
From Salt Lake we went over Suncrest and up AF Canyon.
My poor wife gets car sick and those windy roads made her ready to toss her granola bars so we didn't even go all the way through. Instead we came back home, put Caleb to bed, ate some Rumbi Island Grill Hawaiian food and then went down to BYU and the MTC for a look around. By the time we got back Caleb handn't even woken up from his nap yet. Good thing Grandpa Gilbert was there keeping an eye on him, though.

Jawbone - Bluetooth ear piece
Okay, so I heard this new Jawbone ear piece worked really well so I bought one. I could hear much better, but Amy always complained that it was hard for her to hear me. Well one day, my friend Blair Hasler showed me this video and taught me how to actually activate the ear piece. Now it's amazing... check it out!

Food Storage
We are trying to do better at following the prophets councel of getting out of debt and getting our 1-yr supply of food storage. We already had quite a bit of regular food storage that Amy and I have packaged from the Spanish Fork Cannery and from just regular sales from the store. With the sale of our Springville home complete, we decided to purchase a 1-yr supply for 2 people of complete meals, snacks, desserts from a freeze dried supplier. Check it out.
